Health and safety in local authority enforced sectors: HELA national picture 2000
Article Abstract:
The article summarizes local authority health enforcement work, safety legislation in 1998/99, and reported workplace injuries. Staff doing safety and health work was 1210 full-time equivalents, 16 % less than in 1997/98. Inspectors completed 332,000 visits. Work-related illnesses were highest in home care situations.

Practitioners' briefing: mobile phones
Article Abstract:
Issues concerning the personal health effects of using mobile phones are discussed. The findings of the independent Stewart Group on the potential health impact of mobile phones and base stations and the need for further research are highlighted.
