Human resource management in Botswana: approach to enhancing productivity in the public sector
Article Abstract:
Botswana has a good track record in human resource management, although several areas need to be addressed to ensure the country maintains its role as a developing country in business terms. Poorly supervised public sector human resource management techniques have lead to a decline in productivity, caused mainly by an inappropriate use of man power and auditing checks. The Botswana government has invested in productivity schemes through the establishment of the Botswana National Productivity Center which has a long-term aim of improving productivity within the economy.

Human resources and management in China's 'hi-tech' revolution: a study of selected computer hardware, software and related firms in the People's Republic of China
Article Abstract:
Competition within the hi-tech industry of the People's Republic of China (PRC) is becoming more noticeable as western-influenced human resource management techniques become more widespread. The traditional Chinese employer-employee relationship is subtly changing, with less state dependency and more entrepreneurial activity which requires a western approach. Wages and salaries are becoming a greater bargaining tool within the working relationship, moving away from the traditional social interaction personnel model.
