International mergers and acquisitions: don't overlook the HR issues
Article Abstract:
Companies can avoid problems associated with international mergers and acquisitions by including the human resources (HR) management function in the process. Most HR departments can be asked to review the HR programs and policies of target companies such as employee benefit plans and collective bargaining agreements. Companies can then consider the findings of the HR department when developing and negotiating bid prices.
