Interorganizational market exchange: critical issues for strategic market decision analysis
Article Abstract:
Researching the paradigms for interorganizational marketing relationships is useful to corporate executives planning for the long-term survival of their business. Use of the functionalist paradigm shows that manufacturers' channel power depends on their anticipated economic contribution to the dealer's business. Manufacturers who employ their power to impact dealer decisions gain increased control of channel behavior when compared to other manufacturers. Dealer satisfaction is the goal of the marketing process and is a requirement for the long-term survival of channel relationships.

The relevance of foreign exchange hedging to corporate management
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to describe the various kinds of foreign exposures that can be hedged and establish the relevance of exchange risk hedging. The study discusses the hedging of translation, transaction and economic exposures. Analyses show that hedging does not affect market efficiency and only incurs unnecessary costs. However, market imperfections and inefficiencies, default risks and costs of financial distress make foreign exchange hedging a relevant corporate concern.

Environmental scanning for strategic control
Article Abstract:
Environmental scanning can enhance premise control and strategic surveillance, two key strategic control approaches. It is the process of seeking data about events and relationships in a company's external environment which can assist top management in charting the corporation's future course. Its mechanisms can assure that a business firm's premise/assumption, previously laid down during strategy formulation, are kept accurate and up-to-date.
