Economic damages, employee benefits and the expert witness
Article Abstract:
Employee benefits are drawn into a number of legal cases where economic damages are involved. The parties providing information and commenting upon the information provided are the benefits practitioner and forensic economist/expert witness respectively. Neither is aware of the intricacies of the other's job and the information so provided or commented upon may leave a lot to be said leading to gross variation in estimate of losses. An analysis of the different interpretations by the two professionals is presented.
