Linking individual performance to business strategy: the people process model
Article Abstract:
The manner in which firms maintain and sustain short term competitive advantage while preparing for long term success is a key challenge. Access to funding and capital are important but the people and processes capable of achieving organizational strategies such as customer satisfaction are even more significant to sustaining a competitive edge. A study was conducted to create a map of those processes that connect organizational strategy to the performance of employees and the organization and to use this map to further the understanding of the elements and leverage points of successful linkage. Among other findings the study indicates that some processes appeared to be more easily embedded than others.
