Disney helps keep kids in school

In accordance with founder Walt Disney's principles on education, that it should be enjoyable and intertwined with entertainment, most of the Disney organization's educational outreach programs are conducted employing entertainment techniques to convey educational information. One of the most significant programs of Walt Disney Co is the Challenge Program, a dropout-prevention endeavor that allows high school students to work and attend school on-site at Walt Disney World.

Article Abstract:
Whirlpool Corp is the world's largest white goods firm, with operations in 16 countries in North America and Europe. Yet, despite the vastness of its operations, the company was able to create an integrated and cohesive international management team by sponsoring global conferences. The objectives of these conferences include advancing a unified vision of the company's future among its managers, establishing in them a sense of responsibility for determining the company's future, and providing a venue for these managers to identify ways to integrate Whirlpool's global activities into a unified whole. For its innovative efforts in global management, Whirpool Corp was given the 1991 Optimas Award in Global Outlook by the Personnel Journal.
