Personnel Journal: 1991 guide to conference centers
Article Abstract:
Personnel Journal's 1991 Guide to Conference Centers is presented. The areas in which conference centers are different from other types of meeting facilities include facility design, furnishings and equipment, personnel, conference service, and food and beverage service. Conference centers usually use a complete meeting package, which is a daily, per-person rate covering such items as meals and refreshments, meeting rooms, and overnight accommodations. Different conference centers are targeted toward different audiences, including executive-level planners and budget-conscious meeting planners.

Personnel Journal 1990 guide to conference centers
Article Abstract:
The number of conference centers has dramatically increased from 1970 to 1990 in response to the growing corporate trend toward smaller regional meetings. Conference centers are typically separated from high-traffic areas and are conveniently located for access to telephones, rest rooms, and refreshment areas. They are usually designed to provide 20-50 people with distraction-free environments that are ideal for meetings that include budget sessions, sales and marketing reviews, and training and development programs. A closeup of eight conference centers is included.
