Personnel strategy for an automated plant
Article Abstract:
Pirelli General has invested 20 million pounds sterling in a new automated building wires manufacturing plant in Wales which utilizes a new computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM) system. Pirelli has also created a project team to: critically analyze the technical and production methods of the CIM system; select an optimal management style for the new plant; and structure work to be compatible with the principles and technology of the CIM system. Employment, divided into the categories of producer, maintainer, and administrator, will emphasize cohesion and integration, as opposed to the traditional segregation of British industry.
