Report from the Czech Republic: economic overview
Article Abstract:
The Czech Republic's socio-economic environment and its transformation from a centrally controlled system into an open-market system are reviewed. The Czech Republic's fast growing gross domestic product (GDP), positive balance of payments, sustainable current account deficit, and a safely controlled inflation shows that it is on the way to becoming compatible with the European Union and would remain a politically and economically stable country even afterwards.

Report from the Czech Republic: remuneration
Article Abstract:
Problematic issues around remuneration in the Czech Republic are reviewed. During the Communist era in the Czech Republic, human resource only meant managing the monthly payroll process, thus in a market economy where payment was linked to market practice and company strategy, job accountability and job evaluation became difficult for employees who had experienced a Communist rule.
