Spores from the black stuff
Article Abstract:
Minimising spore release is one of several tips issued by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) on mould removal. Others include: wear a mask; maximize ventilation; spray or wipe contaminated surface with a bleach/biocide solution; and use a fungicidal wash to sterilise the area. Fungal spores are an allergen and can provoke rhinitis, asthma, and alveolitis.

A panel was set up in the Severnside area to look into how to inform workers of an emergency situation in a hazardous area. The Severnside Siren Trust Ltd was established to manage the installation of 20 sirens and an operation centre. The new equipment cost 214,000 pounds sterling.
