Stress can you take it: as fewer employees are expected to cope with greater workloads employers will increasingly face claims for psychiatric injury
Article Abstract:
Employers and insurances will have to face a rash of claims linked to stress at work particularly now that fewer employees are expected to handle an increased workload. Stress related disorders account for 90 million lost working days a year and are the second largest category of occupational disease according to the British Safety Council. The Walker case was instrumental in enabling employees to claim remedies against employers not only for physical injuries sustained at work.
