Workplace accidents--firms face higher insurance costs
Article Abstract:
The Association of British Insurers (ABI) criticizes the Injury Costs Recovery (ICR) scheme by stating that employers would face higher insurance costs and also estimates that the proposal could push up the cost of employers' liability (EL) for the average business by five percent. The ABI suggests that this comes at a time when EL premiums are currently rising by between 10-15% a year, largely due to the increasing cost of personal injury claims.
