A warm wind blows in paradise: Colorado windsurfer-lawyers open resort on Venezuelan island
Article Abstract:
Lindasue Smollen and her husband David Rockwell, both lawyers in Boulder, CO, have launched a bed and breakfast in the windsurfing paradise of Margarita Island, Venezuela. Smollen says long vacations are vital for lawyers, though she admits it takes creativity and hard work to get away for a week every six weeks as well as all of March. When the pair discovered the island in 1989 they loved the location but accommodations were 'subhuman,' but Windsurfing magazine praises their nascent resort, Casa Viento.

Spring training: get in condition before taking to that softball diamond
Article Abstract:
Many lawyers play softball for recreation and camaraderie in the spring or summer, but often do not prepare by practicing, getting in condition, or even stretching muscles and warming up. All of these make the game more enjoyable and less risky, especially for the vast majority who are not Olympic-caliber athletes. The quality of leagues vary, with those sponsored by the bar associations typically winning more accolades than those organized by park districts.
