In all its variations, the fathers' rights movement is saying one thing ... make room for daddy
Article Abstract:
The fathers' rights movement is committed to ensuring the continued involvement of fathers in their children's lives and to eliminating judicial and legal biases against fathers. Some fathers see the movement as a response to the excesses of feminism, and others see it as a way to ensure paternal involvement in child rearing. The movement includes many small organizations, as well as individuals that have fought for the presumption of joint custody in divorce proceedings. The groups claim that support arrearages would be reduce by greater paternal involvement.

Classroom distinctions: new sexual harassment guidelines for schools released
Article Abstract:
EEOC sexual harassment guidelines, issued in March 1997, are designed to help school officials deal with student harassment situations, but could end up leading to more litigation. These guidelines, if viewed by the courts as similar to workplace sexual harassment laws, could indirectly encourage the spread of suits alleging peer harassment. The guidelines, a response to the North Carolina harassment case involving a 6-year-old boy, are welcomed by advocates who say harassment is rampant, but decried by critics who say these rules go too far.
