The effective legal management of a corporation's information technology is discussed and requires oversight during the due diligence, contract negotiation, project implementation and dispute resolution stages. The key to minimizing the risk related to information technology projects is to perform adequate due diligence before acquiring a new system.

The gray market in electronic commerce is discussed, and its greatest money-saver is using the Internet to reach consumers. Keyword advertising and banner ads are other cyberspace devices used to save money. The use of copyright and trademark law provides only limited relief against gray marketers.
