Relationship management software is appropriate for large law firms and corporate legal departments with 100 or more users, consolidating contact and relationship knowledge into a central database. The database has a single point of entry and enables every practice group and administrative department of an organization to share data about clients and other important contacts. Relationship managers differ from contact managers by allowing for the configuration of complex security rules.

An integrated practice management system centralizing important information can cut down on the overhead costs of information management and improve communications within the law firm.
