Comparing cultures, comparing crime: challenges, prospects, and problems for a global criminology
Article Abstract:
This article discusses the challenges globalization presents to the field of criminology. The author argues criminologists must be careful when comparing cultures, crime, and forms of social control, maintaining cultural comparisons often produce unrealistic expectations, and suggests new strategies be devised to prevent past mistakes.
