Article Abstract:
The growing tendency to claim co-authorship of copyrighted works in the absence of written work-for-hire agreements is discussed. The case of Aalmuhammed v. Lee offers courts an effective way to limit co-authorship and resulting profits in entrepreneurial companies without written agreements protecting a company's copyright ownership rights.

Publish or perish; copyright terms for some unpublished works will expire at the end of 2002
Article Abstract:
The expiring of the copyright law at the end of 2002 for unpublished works by authors who died before 1977 is discussed. Copyright terms for others will expire between 2002 and 2047. The common-law copyright term for unpublished works is also abolished.

Article Abstract:
Possible copyright infringement by those who alter and redistribute open-source software as their own proprietary program is discussed. Courses of action for companies dealing with the problem of open-source licenses are summarized.
