Article Abstract:
Concern about the reliability of eyewitness testimony is discussed. According to one study, 50% of all wrongful convictions result from false identifications, and the question is what steps courts should be taking to address the problem. Among the choices are to suppress overly suggestive identifications, give special jury instructions against relying on eyewitness identification and have experts testify about this method's unreliability.
