Dedication to Justice Sandra Day O'Connor
Article Abstract:
Justice Sandra Day O'Connor achieved a landmark in 1981 by becoming the first woman justice appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court, and her performance in the subsequent 15 years has been exemplary. She has provided a model of legal reasoning in her appreciation for the nuances of particular cases. Justice O'Connor has helped to advance equality for women, while demonstrating that wisdom is not related to gender. She has also acted as an emissary to teach representatives from other countries about the U.S. legal system.
