Fax at your fingertips; desktop faxing is easy, fast and economical
Article Abstract:
Desktop faxing now allows faxes to be sent via personal computer, an improvement which is a great time-saver in legal communication. Windows-based software developed for desktop use allows faxes to be sent directly from applications such as word processing or document assembly. The quality is excellent and use of a scanner even makes it possible to send clear illustrations. Faxes sent via computer can be read on-line and kept as a file, and reception is automatic when the computer is on. Software packages are listed.

A large amount of new technology designed for lawyers is appearing on the market. One example is Autodesk's 3DStudio. This allows trial lawyers to present the jury with a three-dimensional animated reconstruction of an event at issue. 'The Interactive Courtroom' contains seven programs using computer and videodisc systems to create a mock courtroom. Clause-It is a document assembly program for the MacIntosh. Power Japanese uses an interactive program to teach Japanese characters.
