Learned lessons guide a firm; they've vowed not to repeat their mistakes with Morrison Cohen
Article Abstract:
New York City's Morrison Cohen Singer and Weinstein is a 45-attorney diversified firm which has prospered during the recession. The firm's practice includes litigation, real estate, trusts and estate, and corporate law. Some attorneys came to Morrison Cohen from firms which had management problems. Determined to learn from their mistakes, Morrison Cohen retained management consultant Hildebrandt Inc to help them set up policies. Later a psychoanalyst and organizational consultant helped the firm work on interpersonal issues, and the result seems to be a thriving firm.

Article Abstract:
Former officials of General Development Corp (GDC), at one time one of Florida's largest real estate developers, were convicted of fraud and conspiracy on Aug 5, 1992. GDC's salesmen were alleged to have engaged in fraudulent advertising and to have targeted markets of less sophisticated recent immigrants. Cravath, Swaine and Moore was the company's counsel and had, after considerable research, concluded that the company was doing nothing wrong.
