In memorium: Louis L. Jaffe
Article Abstract:
The passing of Louis L Jaffe, former Byrne Professor of Administrative Law at Harvard Law School, was a great loss to his many friends and admirers, and served to remind them of his enormous influence in shaping Harvard. After graduating third in his class there in 1928, Jaffe played an important role in developing and implementing the New Deal, and returned to Harvard in 1950. For the next quarter-century he studied and taught torts and especially administrative law. He was in all ways fascinating, enthusiastic, and wise.
