In memorium: Maurice Rosenberg
Article Abstract:
Maurice Rosenberg, the Harold R. Medina Professor Emeritus in Procedural Jurisprudence at Columbia University School of Law, died in 1995 following a distinguished career as law professor and casebook author. He received a number of judicial awards and his official appointments included Special Assistant to US Attorney General and Assistant Attorney General. During the 1970s, he served on the Advisory Council on Appellate Justice and the Council on the Role of the Courts. His influence and scholarship, primarily through his work on Columbia's Project for Effective Justice during the 1960s, led to civil justice reforms based on empirical social science methodology.

Article Abstract:
The authors praise the contributions of Columbia Law School professor Louis Lusky to the study and teaching of constitutional theory. Lusky's stint as a law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Harlan Stone, and Lusky's work as an attorney in the Civil Rights Movement are also discussed.

The accomplishments of the late Herbert Wechsler, professor of law at the Columbia University School of Law, are outlined. Wechsler's crucial work on the Model Penal Code, and in the area of criminal law reform generally, is discussed.
