Is America an indispensable (global) nation?
Article Abstract:
Globalization, often cited as a guarantee of prosperity, may also contribute to income inequality and demonstrates America is not an indispensable nation. Globalization places poorly skilled workers at a disadvantage by threatening low-paying jobs with cheap imported goods, and large numbers of poorly skilled immigrants constitute another potential threat.

Voluntary disclosure of mission statements in corporate annual reports: signaling what and to whom?
Article Abstract:
This article examines the definition, components, and purpose of corporate mission statements disclosed in annual business reports, and presents a model of voluntary social disclosure. The authors use signaling and agency theory to examine how companies relate information to their stakeholders.
