Reaching out to women of color: special report chronicles concerns over bias in the profession
Article Abstract:
The Multicultural Women Attorneys Network welcomed the ABA House of Delegates' decision in Miami to oppose race- and gender-based discrimination and bias. The network developed in 1989 when the Commission on Opportunities for Minorities in the Profession and the Commission on Women in the Profession realized that neither could serve the particular needs of female attorneys of color. A report the network published in fall 1994, 'The Burdens of Both, the Privileges of Neither,' outlines continuing problems multicultural female lawyers face.

Riding high on the hog; in biker disguse, these guys roared off to motorcycle mecca
Article Abstract:
Three Seattle lawyers rode their Harley Davidsons 3,000 miles to the 55th annual Blackhills Motorcycle Classic and back. As part of their adventure, P Arley Harrel, Stephen R Durkee, and George S Holzapfel assumed a true biker look, growing out hair and beards and even piercing an ear. They relished the experience, riding on back roads the entire way, diving into the real America, and leaving behind their lawyer personae as much as possible.
