All aboard for MDP train; but accounting giant's financing of D.C. law firm could still derail
Article Abstract:
McKee, Nelson, Ernst and Young, the latest melding of law and accounting firms, represents the accounting firm of Ernst and Young and the law firm of King and Spalding. Critics claim that it comes close to the unauthorized practices of law, but whether the organized bar will regulate lawyers who work in such firms before Congress does may be the larger issue.l

Screen tests; critics view resume-scanning software as newest form of employment discrimination
Article Abstract:
Resume-scanning software, a very popular human resources product, dates from the late 1980s. The job-related criteria loaded onto the software can lead to employment discrimination problems. One example would be designing software that screens out candidates without a high school degreee for a position for a position not necessarily requiring such education. The tactic could eliminate a disproportionate share of minorities otherwise qualified for the position.
