Alleviating job stress by changing the way law is practiced is discussed. The self-assessment may find out that the corporate culture of the place of employment or a desire for a job with more personal time cause cause unhappiness.

When home is where the office is; lawyers who give up commuting must overcome negative image perceptions
Article Abstract:
Home-based lawyers are on the rise, overcoming image problems and other concerns in a bid to prove their choices as valid as any. Some are even doing criminal defense work from home offices, acknowledging the concerns that raises but pointing out their clients are more comfortable in that environment. Others, doing corporate or similar business work, advise viewing the decision as positive, and refusing to apologize. However, renting outside space to meet with clients is advisable.

Law in the family; successful parent-child partnerships rely on rising above family dynamics
Article Abstract:
Attorneys who work with their parents in small family firms must see themselves as business associates and leave family dynamics at home, and those who fail to follow this advice may face a working environment replete with frustration. Family members in any small family business must leave the family dynamic at home. Common ideas about the chain of command do not hold true here, and, as in any workplace, consideration of another's feelings must be the rule.
