Steering clear of conflicts; search time-and-billing systems, new case reports to make checking easier
Article Abstract:
Attorneys can effectively use software for conflicts checking, and this can even be done in a relatively low-tech way. Attorneys can check names which might create a conflict in a time-and-billing system such as Timeslips. Usually, the search is for a new client's name and an opposing party's name. Only attorneys who bill by name and not by relationship can use the Timeslips technique effectively. New case report forms are another necessary item and a Lotus Notes database can be used effectively for this purpose.
