The deadly practice of divorce; lately, divorced men have been taking aim in court
Article Abstract:
Courtroom violence during divorce proceedings is becoming more common. Causes include stress and depression due to the recession, the shift to no-fault divorces, the increased power of wives in divorce proceedings and increased contentiousness because women are no longer automatically granted custody of the children. The problem has become severe enough that some courthouses and family law firms are increasing their security.

Poll: jurors have faith in system
Article Abstract:
The National Law Journal/Lexis poll surveyed 800 individuals who served on civil and criminal juries in 1992 on their views of the jury system and justice administration in general. At least 75% of those surveyed said they would want a jury trial if they had to go to court. Respondents also felt that jurors could understand technical cases. Other results both confirmed and contradicted conventional wisdom.

The jurors tell their own tales
Article Abstract:
The National Law Journal/Lexis poll of 1992 jurors found virtually all respondents enthusiastic about the experience and wanting their fate decided by a jury rather than a judge if they ever had to go to court. Respondents liked well-prepared attorneys who could explain complex information in an understandable manner.
