Dick Emery, the CEO of UKTV, a joint venture between the BBC and Flextech, has plans to build the network's brand recognition. Already, Emery has supervised growth of UKTV from four channels to six. Emery has 15 million pounds sterling at his disposal for new British-produced offerings, which will include the music and comedy channel, renamed Play UK.
