Asia adds to animal planet
Article Abstract:
Discovery Communications and BBC Worldwide are scheduled to start operations of the Animal Planet network in Asia on June 26, 1998. The new network, which is a 50-50 joint venture between Discovery and BBC, marks the first channel to be launched after BBC and Discovery approved of their global joint venture partnership in March 1998. BBC and Discovery are confident that the Animal Planet, which focuses purely on animal programming, will also achieve rapid growth in Asia. The new network will join the two existing BBC/Discovery services in Asia.
