BBC Resources Ltd seals OB sports deal with SNG

BBC Resources Ltd. has signed a three-year joint venture deal with Sports News Group (SNG) of London, UK. The deal, which is the first since BBC Resources became a limited company on July 1, 1998, is aimed at marketing BBC Resources' outside broadcast sports facilities by combining its equipment and experience with SNG's production and program distribution expertise. The deal, which gives host broadcaster rights to the Class One World Offshore Powerboats series, is expected to be formalized on September 14, 1998.

APITV faces restructuring after parent group merger

APITV, an independent sports production company based in London, UK, could be restructured following the merger of its parent, API Group, with US-based Advantage International. API and Advantage International are both owned by Octagon, a US sports marketing and entertainment company. APITV, whis is among three TV operators in API, said that questions about redundancies had not been raised and that the main consideration is how the TV operators operate and fit together.

APITV brand to go with CSI merger
Article Abstract:
API Television, APITV, plans to merge with CSI, its sister firm, in a deal that will result to the disappearance in autumn 1998 of the APITV brand. CSI and APITV are owned by Octagon, an entertainment and sports-marketing group. APITV is set to be wound up as an independent operation after its completes its responsibilities for the Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's Commonwealth Games in September 1998 and consortium duties for France's World Cup soccer tournament.
