BBC to air Diana home movies
Article Abstract:
BBC will broadcast a 45-minute documentary on Diana, Princess of Wales, featuring an interview with her brother, Earl Spencer, and home movie footage of the princess as a child that has never been broadcast before. The documentary is anticipated to be shown at prime time later in June 1998 in the run-up to Diana's birthday on July 1, 1998. The Spencer interview will deal about Diana's childhood, her marriage into the royal family, her relationship with her sons as well as her funeral and the events following her death. Earl Spencer, however, will not speak about Diana's sons and her divorce.

BBC radio news rushed into digital

BBC radio newsroom has acknowledged that it is plagued with difficulties since shifting to digital technology. Neil Dormand, BBC general manager, technology and production services, news, admitted that the newsroom was forced to shift to digital because of the transfer to a new News Center. Dormand also pointed out that the company usually avoid putting in new technology which might be removed later because of problems in using it. In addition, dissatisfaction by radio producers was also traced to the transfer to the News Center.
