C4 to get first-ever fine for Chickens

Britain's Channel 4 (C4) admitted that scenes from a documentary about young gay prostitutes were faked. With this admission, members of the Independent Television Commission (ITC) met to decide what fines were appropriate. The program was actually produced by the independent Basement Productions, based in Glasgow. The ITC was impressed with with C4's timely acknowledgment that the scenes were faked. C4 has been in trouble with ITC for airing programs with questionable merit.

The resurgence of fair comment
Article Abstract:
It has been argued that the defense of fair comment is of little practical use for libel defendants. A recent case in Hong Kong may have ressurrected the defense, however. The case of Cheng v Tse Wai Chun Paul involves comments made on a talk show.
