Capital splashes out on Red Dragon
Article Abstract:
Capital Radio plans to acquire from Emap Radio the Touch Radio AM-radio station and the Red Dragon FM station for GBP18.25 million. Capital Radio's director for programming, Richard Park, cited that the attractiveness of Red Dragon as a target for an acquisition is improved by its position as a radio station in a capital city. Park also noted that it is too soon to consider possible station rebranding and programming changes while stating that no layoffs are likely to be implemented as a result of the acquisition. Capital Radio still needs the approval of regulators for its purchase plans for Red Dragon.
