Complete issues writ on Avid and GE
Article Abstract:
Complete Video Facilities has issued on Jun. 3, 1998, a High Court writ against GE Capital Services, a finance leasing firm, and Avid Technology Europe, in connection with the alleged failure of Avid's Spectrum, which is a non-linear editor. The writ asserts that both GE Capital and Avid were in breach of oral collateral guaranties that were effected in or around April 1996 and May 1996 and/or August 1996 and September 1996. Complete Video also seeks undeclared damages. In September 1996, Avid withdrew its 600,000-pound-sterling Spectrum following the admission of Avid that the system's effects and editing aspects could not function together.
