Carlton loses Mobo awards rights to C4
Article Abstract:
Carlton Television has failed to get an extension of its contract to broadcast the Music Black Origin (Mobo) music awards in the UK. Instead, the rights to broadcast Mobo, which has been held by Carlton Television since its launch in 1996, was awarded to Channel 4. Carlton Television said ITV Network's indecision over finalizing the commission has encouraged the Mobo organizers to give the broadcast rights for the music awards to another broadcaster. Carlton Television controller of entertainment and comedy John Bishop said the broadcaster will remain a loyal supporter of Mobo.
