DVD camcorder 'by 2000.'
Article Abstract:
The development of DVD-based camcorder is looking promising and a version could be out by the middle of 2000, according to BBC Resources director of technology, Keith Harlow. The product is being developed by a consortium of manufacturers and broadcasters, that include BBC. Sony, Panasonic and NEC, all involved in the product development, showed prototype versions at the NAB exhibition in Las Vegas, NV, in April 1998. Also involved in the development of the camcorder are Japanese broadcaster NHK and US network ABC.
