Media sector lifted by FTSE 100 comback

The FTSE 100's recovery continued in the week ending August 28, 2007, resulting in the majority of listed media companies to close in possitive territory, such as large cap Virgin Media closing up 4%. Yoomedia's shares rose 15.6% on the AIM market after winning a major contract, while GCap was down 8.3% after a Credit Suisse rating cut. A table showing market share prices of media companies is also given.

Bright ad market helps UTV beat media side

UTV's growth in the UK and Irish radio advertising markets has led to the 1.5% increase in the company's share price, amidst facing challenges in media. Stocks of video search engine Blinkx fell to 37.5 pounds from a high of 41 pounds after announcing its partnership with UTarget. Other stock market data in the mass media industry are given.
