Dance doc puts Ulster back in network game
Article Abstract:
ITV has asked Ulster Television (UTV) to produce an hour-long report on the history and impact of Irish dance. The contract, awarded to the network by Grant Mansfield, ITV controller of documentaries and features, is expected to address criticisms made by the Independent Television Commission (ITC) about UTV's failure to land network projects. UTV, which has a commitment to give 11 hours of programming yearly to the network as part of its licensing deal, has been threatened with sanctions by the ITC if its performance do not improve.
