'Doing IT for the kids': re-examining children, computers and the 'information society.'
Article Abstract:
Three views of children's use of computers and the Internet are analyzed. They are the view that children can do anything with computers and that early computer use will lead to success as an adult, the view that children will engage in anti-social behavior because of excessive computer use and finally, the view that children will be harmed by exposure to violence and sex via computer interactions.

Virtual togetherness: an everyday-life perspective
Article Abstract:
A in depth study of 21 participants in online forums and discussions was conducted to see how their "online community" activity relates to their real everyday lives. She finds that online personal interaction opens new forms of social interaction that need to be studied further.
