BBC warns Oftel on digital
Article Abstract:
The planned launch by satellite operator BSkyB of digital services later in 1997 is causing concern for the BBC. The latter concern is calling on television regulatory body Oftel to give particular attention to the electronic programme guide planned by BSkyB, as this will be the means through which consumers have access to BSkyB's services. The BBC is proposing that the front page of the electronic programme guide be neutral, rather than branded to a particular broadcaster, and that there is a single set-top box for all digital services.
