Extra terrestrials aim for audience control
Article Abstract:
Satellite and cable television station are seeking to gain cult terrestrial television programmes in order to attract new viewers. Popular game shows on the terrestrial network such as Blockbusters and Bullseye are being bought to capture the younger early evening viewers and possibly ultimately increase satellite dish sales. Satellite channel UK Gold broadcasts old programmes produced by Thames and the BBC but the channel has remained consistently popular, particularly in the daytime against rival Sky One.
