World Service logo heralds strategy shift
Article Abstract:
The BBC World Service will launch a new logo beginning Sep. 21, 1998, in its effort to renew the branding of BBC company-wide. The new logo, which was designed by Lambie-Nairn for 75,000 pounds sterling, will feature a stellar visual and aims to boost the World Service's image over close, well-branded competitors. Meanwhile, World Service's programming is experiencing continuous updates by its management to compete better with Tony Blair's 'Cool Britannia' concept and to come up with programmes that are livelier and more accessible via new designs.
