Jackson to put features and factual on programme director's plate at C4
Article Abstract:
Channel 4 Chief Executive Michael Jackson is planning to put the factual and features tasks on the job description of the new C4 director of programmes, who is expected to be named in the autumn of 1998. Steve Hewlett, the head of factual and features, is quitting his post at the end of August 1998 to replace Andy Allan as director of programmes at Carlton Television. Sources said that the move to put the factual and features brief into the programme director's job assignments was taken to allow the broadcasting company to make faster and less complicated commissioning actions.
