US studios will be seeking British animation talent at the Cardiff Animation Festival. Although top animators are benefiting from the current Hollywood vogue for animated features, the industry in the UK will face the loss of talent. There are six top Hollywood studios setting up animation divisions, each aiming to introduce a feature a year. Salary levels in British animation have risen in an attempt to stop the transatlantic flow, and this has increased the cost of UK animation.
