Article Abstract:
The Royal Television Society (RTS) has held a conference associated with the training of television skills. While some 29 mil pounds sterling has been invested in training by the industry, many television executives are concerned with the level of training and believe more funds are needed. Virginia Bottomly, UK Heritage Scretary believes the future of television will see multi-skilled jounalists, but was not prepared to offer government aid for training.

Fair to Midlands
Article Abstract:
The Midlands has always been a production stronghold in television terms, with BBC Pebble Mill and Central Television providing the core element of the network schedules. Greater activity can be expected with the BBC's increasing focus on regional production and Carlton's acquisition of Central. Independent post-production businesses are seeing an increase in work in the region, including TVG, the largest independent post-production house in Birmingham.

Article Abstract:
There are now three broadcasting technology shows in the world. That is too many and the situation must be resolved. The Montreux convention and the International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam are both annual events in Europe now. However, exhibitors and customers cannot afford to attend both and are now having to choose between them.
