Indecent programming
Article Abstract:
FCC is strictly monitoring radio stations for indecent and offensive radio programming within the six to eight in the evening time slot. A new law issued by the FCC in Jan 1993, lengthened the no-indecency policy from six in the evening until midnight. However, in Feb 1993, the Court of Appeals reversed the regulation, retaining the original time slot of the no-indecency policy. The FCC decided toimpose forfeitures ranging from $2,000 to $200,000 on radio stations who continue to violate radio programming regulations.

FCC streamlines radio application processing
Article Abstract:
The Federal Communications Commission changed its rules on Mar 30, 1999, for various radio application procedures. Most changes are now considered minor except for changing community of license, frequency, antenna location, and where one party no longer retains more than 50% ownership. Certain FM applicants are now prevented from filing contingent applications.
